2 Dead In Apparent Murder-Suicide In San Diego

Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso and a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, police said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two people were found dead in an apparent murder-suicide over the weekend in San Diego, authorities said.

Police responded to a report of a domestic violence shooting at 9:47 a.m. Saturday in the 5500 block of Timothy Drive in the Oak Park neighborhood, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Officers found a woman suffering from a gunshot wound to her upper torso, and in another room, a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his head, police Lt. Arturo Swadener said. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident appears to be a murder-suicide," Swadener said. "There is no known threat to the community."

The man and woman were both described to have been in their 50s, Swadener said. Their names were not released.

Homicide investigators were handling the investigation.
