SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect a wet and stormy Christmas. A "Pineapple Express" storm is predicted to bring heavy rain, strong winds and potential flooding throughout the week, according to the National Weather Service.

"A cooling trend will begin Monday as a strong storm approaches with increasing clouds," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "Rain will begin Tuesday in most areas with periods of heavy rain Tuesday night and Wednesday as well as very strong winds. Showers are expected to continue on Christmas day and through next weekend."

In other news, a man was killed and another was wounded during an argument following a house party; two young girls were killed and three others were hospitalized in a mobile home fire; a man and woman were killed in an apparent murder-suicide; deputies fatally shot a knife-wielding man near a pier.
