SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect a chance of rain this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"A weak low pressure system will bring light rain and mountain snow to some areas this afternoon and tonight, with cooler than normal conditions through Tuesday," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Monday. "West to north winds will increase through tonight, shifting to the north to northeast Tuesday and Wednesday with rising temperatures. Another low pressure system will bring chances of rain Friday through Sunday with cooling conditions."

In other news, vote counters in Los Angeles County received a bomb threat Saturday, one day after similar threats were directed at their counterparts in San Diego and Orange counties. Authorities said that an investigation conducted at the office and Ballot Processing Center revealed no credible threats.

Four people were rendered unconscious, and one of them died, outside an apartment building in Orange County when they apparently overdosed on drugs during a party. Paramedics and officers rendered aid to the patients and they were rushed to hospitals, officials said.

Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent Albert Carvalho condemned racist text messages being sent to Black Americans across the country, and said some of the messages were sent to students in the district. The FBI is investigating the reports.

Two people were injured in a freeway crash in Riverside involving a shooting, according to witnesses and a California Highway Patrol incident report. A reporting party said they heard a crash followed by three to six shots.
