7 Drivers Arrested At Checkpoint On Suspicion Of Impaired Driving
Seven people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at a Pacific Beach checkpoint, police said Sunday.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Seven people were arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence at a Pacific Beach checkpoint, police said Sunday.
The checkpoint was conducted by the San Diego Police Department's traffic division between 10 p.m. Saturday and 3 a.m. Sunday at 2400 Grand Ave., Officer Anthony Obregon said.
Of 1,624 vehicles traveling through the checkpoint, 519 vehicles were screened and nine drivers were evaluated, the officer said.

Seven DUI alcohol suspects were arrested in or near the checkpoint and seven vehicles were impounded, Obregon said.
Another checkpoint or saturation patrol was scheduled for Wednesday, he said.

The checkpoint was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety.
