SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.
But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect above normal temperatures in the inland areas later this week, according to the National Weather Service.
"A low pressure system to the west will move slowly inland on Tuesday and Wednesday bringing cooling for the coast and valleys and a return of night and morning coastal low clouds and fog by Tuesday and Wednesday," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Monday. "High pressure aloft and weak offshore flow will bring warming and inland drying for Friday and Saturday with Saturday high temperatures as much as 10 to 15 degrees above average for the valleys."

In other news, President Joe Biden pardoned his son, Hunter Biden, for tax and gun charges. The 54-year-old Malibu resident pleaded guilty to the charges in September and was due to be sentenced in a downtown Los Angeles federal courtroom Dec. 16.
A 9-year-old boy was shot to death in front of his grandfather's Compton home, police said. The boy's mother told ABC7 that he had autism.

A man suspected of assault with a deadly weapon surrendered to sheriff's deputies following a nearly eight-hour barricade inside an East Los Angeles residence.

The decline in seasonal home prices were driven by cooling California markets, the report found. Month-over-month home price declines were led by three markets in California: Los Angeles, San Diego and San Francisco, all of which recorded a 0.9% drop in September.
