Arson Suspect Arrested In Christmas Day Fire At Former InCahoots Bar

The property, which has been abandoned for years, was also set on fire on Oct. 26, 2024.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man accused of setting fire to an abandoned country bar on Christmas Day was arrested on suspicion of arson, authorities said Thursday.

Joel Humphrey, 47, was arrested on New Year's Eve for recklessly starting the fire to the former InCahoots Dance Hall and Saloon at 5300 Mission Center Road, according to the San Diego Police Department.

The property, which has been abandoned for years, was also set on fire on Oct. 26, 2024. Although both fires were considered "suspicious," Humphrey was only accused of sparking the most recent blaze, police said.
