Authorities ID Woman Found Dead In Descanso

DESCANSO, CA — Authorities on Tuesday publicly identified a woman found dead in southeastern San Diego County.

The body of Jane Cronin, 29, of San Diego was found at 10:37 a.m. Dec. 11 near the intersection of state Route 79 and Wildwood Glen Lane in Descanso, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

"Deputies observed no immediate signs of foul play; however, as a precautionary measure, they reached out to the sheriff's homicide unit," Lt. Michael Krugh said. "The homicide unit has since taken over the investigation."

The cause and manner of Cronin's death remained under investigation.
