Beloved San Diego Coffee Chain Opening New Location

SAN DIEGO, CA — A beloved San Diego-based coffee chain continues to expand across the county with another new location opening its doors this week.

Better Buzz is opening its newest location Thursday in Rancho Peñasquitos. The San Diego-born coffee roasters and café serves handcrafted espresso drinks, coffee, teas and smoothies, as well as made-to-order food items and fresh pastries.

Amanda Cameron, vice president of marketing at Better Buzz, said the new location aims to become the new gathering spot for community members.

"PQ has such a welcoming community, and we're thrilled to open our doors here," Cameron told Patch. "With hours from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m., we'll be here for early risers, busy families, and everyone in between. Our goal is to become the neighborhood spot where friends, families, and coworkers can gather, enjoy our signature food and drinks, and spread the buzz and good vibes throughout the rest of their day."

To celebrate the new location, Better Buzz will host a special grand opening event beginning at 5 a.m., with merchandise giveaways while supplies last.

Better Buzz will also serve an exclusive opening drink called the Banana Pudding Best Drink Ever. The drink features the brand's trademarked Best Drink Ever as the base, as well as banana pudding cold cream and a vanilla wafer cookie. It will only be available at the Rancho Peñasquitos location for the first 30 days.

Customers at the new location can also enjoy the chain's seasonal limited-time menu, which embraces the flavors of fall. Cozy drinks and dishes on the menu include Pumpkin Spice Latte, Pumpkin Chai, Pumpkin Best Drink Ever, and Turkey and Brie Croissant Sandwich.

Founded in 2002 as a craft coffee cart by two college students, Better Buzz now has 25 locations in the San Diego region.

The Rancho Peñasquitos location comes after a handful of recent openings in the San Diego area as well as Orange County, Las Vegas and Arizona.

Better Buzz made its Poway debut in March, followed by a new store in Fashion Valley in June, and a Vista store in July.

The company has plans to further expand in its hometown with another store slated for the San Diego Airport later this year, a spokesperson previously confirmed to Patch.

The Rancho Peñasquitos location will be open from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily at 9878 Carmel Mountain Road, Suite C, in San Diego.
