Body Found In Descanso

DESCANSO, CA — Authorities were investigating a death after a body was found this week in San Diego County.

Deputies responded to a report of a body found at 10:37 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of state Route 79 and Wildwood Glen Lane in Descanso, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

"Deputies observed no immediate signs of foul play; however, as a precautionary measure, they reached out to the sheriff's Homicide Unit," the sheriff's office said in a news release. "The Homicide Unit has since taken over the investigation."

The San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office identified the victim as a 29-year-old woman. Her name was withheld pending family notification.

The cause and manner of her death were still under investigation.
