Crews Halt Brush Fire Near Campo

The Posta Fire sparked off La Posta Road, north of the community of Campo, according to Cal Fire.

CAMPO, CA — A fast-moving brush fire was threatening structures Thursday afternoon in southeastern San Diego County.

The blaze, called the Posta Fire, sparked around 12:20 p.m. off La Posta Road, north of the community of Campo, according to Cal Fire.

The fire, which was moving "with a rapid rate of spread," has burned 10 to 15 acres, Cal Fire officials said. The blaze was threatening multiple structures.

As of 1:49 p.m., crews stopped forward progress of the flames. The fire remained at 20 acres.

The San Diego County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation warning for the following zone: SDC-2325. As of 3:29 p.m., the warning had been been lifted.

No structural damage or injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
