Brush Fire Halted In Escondido

The Flora Fire sparked​ in the 2200 block of San Pasqual Valley Road, according to Cal Fire.

ESCONDIDO, CA — A brush fire briefly threatened structures Monday in Escondido.

The blaze, called the Flora Fire, sparked Monday morning in the 2200 block of San Pasqual Valley Road, according to Cal Fire. The fire scorched about 3 acres and threatened structures before crews halted forward progress of the flames around 11 a.m.

Fire officials advised the public to avoid the area as fire personnel and equipment were working on and near the roadway.

The eastbound lanes of state Route 78 were closed at Bear Valley Road due to the brush fire, according to Caltrans.
