Adults and children 10+ with an adult are welcome! Join San Diego Craft Collective’s Organic Garden workshop each month and learn how to grow your own organic fresh fruits, herbs and vegetables, seed-saving, compost, planting, plus all the benefits of eating healthy, being outdoors and giving back green space to our planet. In this class, Instructor Mia Vaughnes teaches gardening techniques and beyond. We welcome all families, friends and adults to join in the fun! Our Organic Garden was an opportunity for us to transform an under-utilized plot of land outside our Liberty Station studio into a living, learning lab! Our Edible &amp; Pollinator Garden is a perfect place to share with the community how gardening in a small space can be quite abundant. We look forward to teaching children and adults about the craft of gardening and raising awareness of plants that supply us food.

Learn to throw ceramics on a wheel! Saturdays, January 10, 17, 24 &amp; February 7, from 10am – 1pm, with the last class of the series from 10am – 1:30pm
In this 4-week course, 3-hour per class series (each class is longer than our 5-week series), you’ll build a strong foundation in working with clay on the pottery wheel. Instructor Shachi Shah will teach you how to prepare clay, center it on the wheel, and create forms like cylinders, bowls, and mugs. You’ll also be introduced to trimming techniques and adding surface details like handles and texture. After a break to allow your work to be bisque fired, you’ll return for the final session to glaze and complete the cycle from raw clay to finished ceramic.
This is a slow-paced, supportive class where exploration and experimentation are encouraged. Whether you’re brand new to clay or returning after a break, you’ll be guided at your own rhythm — with plenty of space to ask questions, make mistakes, and grow your confidence on the wheel. Projects will be ready to pick up 3-4 weeks after the last class. Beginners welcome. Learn to Weave! Saturday, January 10, 1-5pm Join us for an afternoon of fiber friendship and camaraderie.
Weaving is an ancient craft; it shelters and clothes as well as adorns our spaces, adding texture, color, design and inspiration to our lives. And it is the actual process of weaving, along with selecting fibers, natural objects; guiding weft through the vertical foundation of warp strings; creating pattern/texture as the process unfolds…these steps continue to connect us with the past, and more importantly, with ourselves.
Join in this weaving workshop as we weave intuitively and work together in a space of creativity and openness. Our Instructor will provide guidance in a variety of weaving techniques and will surround you with warped looms to work on, tools to learn with, natural fibers, and foraged and gathered natural objects to incorporate into your weavings. Feel free to bring your own items to weave into your piece, especially if there are any fibers/yarns, stones/crystals, shells, leaves/grasses, etc. that you’d like to experiment with.
Each weaver will complete a one-of-a-kind woven textile. We’ll have rods on hand for those who would like to adapt their pieces into wall hangings. This workshop is perfect for anyone wanting to unlock their creativity for an afternoon of hands-on fiber fun, creating in a grounding space while making a one-of-a-kind, take-home woven piece. • Military, first responder discount
