SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should cooler weather this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Below average high temperatures will continue through Saturday with night and morning coastal low clouds spreading into portions of the valleys late each night," NWS San Diego forecasters wrote Monday. "Warming for Sunday through Tuesday of next week could return high temperatures to around average for the middle of next week."

In other news, at least 30 people were hurt when a car plowed into a crowd outside a nightclub; a boat crashed into the historic USS Midway; a person was found in a trash chute; a former hotel manager was accused of raping an intoxicated teen; and firefighters rescued a puppy while battling a fire.

Also, hundreds of guinea pigs were found in a hoarding crisis at a SoCal home.
