  1. Most people would agree that San Diego needs more housing for homeless residents. Gov. Gavin Newsom championed the cause of building permanent housing for homeless Californians, converting hotels and other building in the state into housing. So, why did the County of San Diego miss the deadline of Jan. 31 to apply for State funds up to $61M? To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Voice of San Diego)
  2. The San Diego International Jewish Film Festival is known as one of the most prestigious Jewish film festivals in the country. Enthusiasts can see screenings at the David & Dorothea Garfield Theater, or they can watch from home. All of the films and TV series that will be screened at the festival were carefully selected to represent the Jewish experience. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. 3. San Diego was once the tuna capital of the world. There was a neighborhood in Shelter Island called Tunaville. Many of its residents were Portuguese immigrants who worked on the local tuna boats. During a virtual lecture at the Gaslamp Museum, a variety of topics will be explored with the Portuguese Historical Center Board Secretary Evelyn Barandiaran.
