SAN DIEGO, CA — Firefighters were working a vehicle rescue on a stretch of highway in San Diego Sunday.

Units were dispatched at 12:20 a.m. Sunday to southbound Interstate 15 near Carmel Mountain Road, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

A total of 24 personnel were assigned to the rescue, including three engines, one truck and one medic, officials said.
