Discovery Isle® Preschool Students Release Ladybugs for Earth Day

On April 22, students celebrated Earth Day and protecting the environment by releasing beneficial bugs into their schoolyard

On April 22, students at Discovery Isle Preschool locations in California including – Carlsbad, Murrieta, Oceanside, Poway, San Diego, San Marcos, and Temecula – bugged out in celebration of Earth Day as they released ladybugs and butterflies throughout the schoolyard and back into the environment on plants, flowers, and trees. Students also held a parade to show their support for protecting the planet and made various crafts with recycled products.

Leading up to Earth Day, students learned that ladybugs serve as a natural pesticide by feeding on insects that could otherwise harm the health of gardens, trees, and shrubs. Discovery Isle Preschool teaches the importance of caring for the Earth and exploring nature at an early age.
