SAN DIEGO, CA — Donors who give blood to San Diego Blood Bank in September will receive a free ticket to SeaWorld San Diego's Howl-O-Scream, the theme park's annual nighttime Halloween event.

The special offer runs through Sept. 30 at any San Diego Blood Bank donation center or mobile blood drive. The partnership between the blood bank and SeaWorld includes 10,000 tickets, which are valued at more than $950,000. It is the largest in-kind donation San Diego Blood Bank has ever received for a second year in a row, according to the organization.

"San Diego Blood Bank is honored to continue our valued partnership with SeaWorld San Diego in 2025, with a goal of collecting 10,000 pints of blood — enough to potentially save more than 30,000 lives," San Diego Blood Bank CEO Doug Morton said. "SeaWorld's generous contribution to our September 2025 blood drives will play a vital role in ensuring a stable blood supply for patients in need throughout Southern California."

Howl-O-Scream, scheduled on select nights Sept. 12 through Nov. 1, will feature five haunted houses, all-new scare zones, the return of Monster Stomp on Ripper Row, all-new vile vignettes, hidden speakeasies, roller coasters after dark and more.

"Last year, we deepened our partnership with the San Diego Blood Bank by giving away a record number of Howl-O-Scream tickets — and were amazed when 10,000 community members stepped up to donate blood and help save lives across our county," said Tyler Carter, park president of SeaWorld San Diego. "This year, as we celebrate the fifth anniversary of fear at Howl-O-Scream, we're thrilled to welcome back those generous donors and inspire even more people to give blood before experiencing San Diego's biggest nighttime Halloween event!"
