Fire Breaks Out In 2-Story San Diego Home

SAN DIEGO, CA — Two family members were displaced Saturday after a fire damaged their home in Torrey View Estates, according to San Diego Fire- Rescue Department.

Firefighters earlier Saturday worked on putting out a blaze at a two- story single-family home, but have cleared the scene, an SDFD official said.

The displaced residents will stay with family members, according to the SDFD, which described the incident as an accidental chimney fire.

The fire, at 4012 Lago di Grata Circle, was reported at 1:52 p.m. Saturday. Crews focused their efforts on the home's roof and attic, according to a SDFD official.

While there were no reported injuries, the home's chimney sustained structural damage.

The official added that firefighters had "a lot of work to do" because of complications caused by roof solar panels.

Lago di Grata Circle was temporarily closed to oncoming traffic, but later reopened.

The SDFD had 34 personnel on scene, along with five engines, two ladder trucks and one ambulance.
