Fire Damages Lake Murray-Area Home, Displacing Residents

The American Red Cross was called in to help the two people who live in the home arrange for emergency shelter.

SAN DIEGO, CA — It took crews about a half-hour Tuesday to subdue a roof fire that damaged a Lake Murray-area home.

The non-injury blaze erupted shortly after 4 p.m. in the 6400 block of Golfcrest Drive, south of Jackson Drive and east of Park Ridge Boulevard, according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.

Firefighters were able to confine the flames to the shake-shingle roof of the single-story house, SDFRD Capt. Jason Shanley said.
