
SAN DIEGO, CA — Firefighters extinguished a kitchen fire Wednesday in a single-family residence in the Linda Vista area of San Diego.
The fire was reported at 2:43 p.m. Wednesday at 6635 Manning St., according to the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department.
"Nobody was home and fire crews knocked the fire down in about 15 minutes," SDFRD Battalion Chief Jeff Mitchell said. "They also rescued three dogs who were unharmed."

Mitchell said the blaze was believed to have been caused by unattended cooking left in the kitchen.
Damage estimates were not immediately available.
A total of 36 personnel responded with firefighting units including six engines, two trucks, two battalion chiefs, one medic and an ambulance.
