  1. California gas prices may hit $5 per gallon due to the international crisis between Russia and Ukraine. The U.S. and several other countries have imposed sanctions against Russia. As a result of the sanctions, Russia may withhold oil from the rest of the world. This will lower the availability of gas, and that will drive prices higher. 2. "Words matter, particularly in our work to make our nation's public lands and waters accessible and welcoming to people of all backgrounds," Interior Secretary Deb Haaland said in a statement. That is why the names of some sites need to be changed to cut sexism and racism. Names such as: Squaw Canyon, Squaw Peak, and Squaw Tit must be replaced with names respectful of sex, ethnicity, and racial background. Those names are particularly disrespectful of Indigenous women. The U.S. Department of the Interior plans to consult virtually with tribal partners. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (fox5sandiego.com)
  3. Air Canada will resume Toronto trips from San Diego. It will also add trips to Montreal. "The new service on Air Canada to Montreal provides our region with a much-needed nonstop connection to this metropolitan Canadian city and beyond,” said Kimberly Becker, San Diego County Regional Airport Authority president and CEO. “Until today, Montreal was our largest and most requested unserved market in Canada, so we are thrilled with today’s announcement. Our thanks to Air Canada for expanding both business and tourism between our two regions.” To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (fox5sandiego.com)
