Homicide Investigation Underway After Man Found Dead In Imperial Beach

IMPERIAL BEACH, CA — Homicide detectives were investigating the death of a man in Imperial Beach.

The man was discovered at about 1:25 a.m. Saturday when deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the 600 block of Seventh Street in Imperial Beach, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies found a man suffering from traumatic injuries, Lt. Juan Marquez said. They performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

His name was withheld pending family notification.

"Sheriff's homicide detectives are conducting an investigation, interviewing witnesses, and gathering more evidence," Marquez said. "At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation. Based on information gathered so far, this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no danger to the community."
