SAN DIEGO, CA — We've rounded up the stories you may have missed over the weekend to prepare you for the week ahead.

But before we jump into Southern California's top stories, residents should expect near-normal temperatures this week, according to the National Weather Service.

"Expect dry conditions and generally near-normal temperatures for this week and next weekend, with night through morning low clouds and patchy fog over the coasts and coastal valleys," NWS Los Angeles forecasters wrote Sunday. "In the extended outlook, starting July 7 of the following week, there will be the potential for a heatwave to build over the region accompanied by triple-digit heat across portions of the interior, along with the first influx of monsoonal moisture of this summer bringing a small chance for thunderstorms over the mountains and deserts."
