- America’s Finest City hit a new high. It now ranks as the least affordable city in the United States to buy a home. While San Diego does not have the most expensive homes, it is behind in terms of income. While San Francisco‘s average home price is more than $1 million, its average income is just over $112K. - The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department is seeking applicants to serve on its LGBTQ+ Advisory Council. The Council will be comprised of 15 members from all walks of life. "The relationship between law enforcement and the LGBTQ+ community has seen significant progress throughout the years," said Acting Sheriff Martinez. "My intention is to bolster that relationship through meaningful dialogue and relationships with a newly reestablished LGBTQ+ Advisory Council." - “I lost my job because I lost my childcare. So, I didn't have childcare, and I didn't have housing, so I didn't have clothes. My money went to a hotel room," said Shavonte Davis, a participant in the YMCA’s HIRE Program. Help Individuals Retain Employment (HIRE) assisted her to get back on her feet. The HIRE program is sponsored by the San Diego Workforce Partnership. They provide training in areas like apprenticeship, career readiness, and financial literacy, among dozens of other fields, to help Davis, and others between the ages of 16 and 24 years-old, to get internships and jobs.
