Man Accused Of Murdering Ex-Girlfriend In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A Los Angeles man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his ex-girlfriend in San Diego, authorities said Sunday. She had been reported as missing under suspicious circumstances.
On Tuesday, officers investigating a 33-year-old missing woman "gathered facts that led them to believe the victim was deceased," according to the San Diego Police Department.
The department's Homicide Unit took over the investigation and developed further information that led them to believe the victim's ex-boyfriend, Eduardo Magana, 48, "was involved in her disappearance," Lt. Arturo Swadener said in a news release.

Detectives learned Magana was living in La Puente, a city in Los Angeles County, and went there to find him, Swadener said. Authorities detained Magana during a traffic stop in the city of Southgate.
After being interviewed by detectives, Magana was arrested and booked into San Diego County Jail on suspicion of murder. He was also facing a kidnapping charge, according to jail booking logs.
