Man Fatally Shot Inside Vehicle In San Diego
The suspect remains on the loose, according to police.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was fatally shot inside a vehicle in San Diego's Miramar neighborhood, authorities said.
Officers responded around 4 p.m. Wednesday to reports of a man who had been shot while seated in the front passenger seat of a vehicle in the 8600 block of Production Ave., according to the San Diego Police Department.
Officers found the victim and began performing life-saving measures until paramedics arrived, police said. The 57-year-old victim was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Immediately after the shooting, the suspect ran northbound from the scene, police said. Witnesses described him as a white man in his 40s, wearing a black shirt and dark-colored shorts.
Officers searched the area and a nearby RV that was parked and possibly associated with the suspect, but did not find him. He remains on the loose, according to police.

"It is still early in the investigation and detectives are in the process of determining what events prompted the fatal shooting of the victim," police said.
Police said the victim was identified, but his name was withheld pending family notification.
