Man Gets 50-To-Life For Home Invasion Sexual Assault In San Diego

The 35-year-old attacker, who had multiple prior convictions for residential burglary, was connected to the case through DNA.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man who broke into a woman's home in Logan Heights and sexually assaulted her was sentenced Monday to 50 years to life in state prison.

Ronald Earl Bray Jr., 35, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to commit rape for the Oct. 15, 2022, break-in at the victim's Ocean View Boulevard residence.

About 1:45 a.m. that day, police said Bray cut a window screen and entered the 27-year-old woman's home through the window while she was asleep.

Bray, who has multiple prior convictions for residential burglary, was connected to the case through DNA that was on file due to his priors, according to Deputy District Attorney Meghan Cox.

Bray also pleaded guilty to an unrelated carjacking and was sentenced for that crime on Monday as well. The prosecutor said DNA also connected Bray to the carjacking.

Along with the prison term, Bray is required to register as a sex offender.
