Man Shot In City Heights Area; Five Suspects Remain At Large
Five men are still on the loose after a 24-year-old man was shot in City Heights.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A 24-year-old man suffered non-life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon in a City Heights area shooting involving five suspects who are at large.
The victim was walking southbound in the 4200 block of Juniper Street, in a residential area near Interstate 805 and Home Avenue, about 4:55 p.m., when five men approached him, according to Officer Robert Heims of the San Diego Police Department.
"Words were exchanged and the victim turned and ran away from the group," Heims said.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot several rounds at the victim, striking him in his right shoulder and right hip, according to Heims.
The victim was conscious and breathing as paramedics prepared him to be taken to a trauma center, and he is expected to survive, Officer Robert Heims said.

The group ran northbound on Juniper Street. The suspect who shot the victim is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall with a muscular build, according to Heims. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, a white shirt, black sweatpants and black shoes.
