SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was stabbed during a fight over the weekend at a hookah lounge in San Diego, authorities said.
An altercation involving patrons and security happened around 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Secret Yard at 2249 Imperial Ave. in San Diego, according to the San Diego Police Department. A 29-year-old man was stabbed in the upper body during the fight.
The victim was dropped off at Sharp Coronado hospital, where it was determined he needed surgery for a "life-threatening injury," Officer David O'Brien said. He was taken to a local trauma center.

The victim, whose identity was not released, survived surgery and was in stable condition, O'Brien said.
"Due to the large group involved in the altercation, the victim was unable to provide a suspect description at this time," O'Brien said.

Authorities asked anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the department or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
