Here are three of the top stories in San Diego today:

1. Ouch! Prices have risen 13 times in 14 days. Local gas prices are up to $4.71 in San Diego County. This is only 1.5 cents less than the Oct. 8, 2012 record high. How long will this trend continue? 2. The City will repave more than 50 miles of roads in neglected neighborhoods under the Mayor’s ‘Sexy Streets’ initiative. Some districts will get as little as 2 miles of roads paved, while other districts will get 12+ miles paved. Wondering what projects will be addressed in your district? 3. Butterflies flutter by and we love to see them. The good news is that there has been an increase in the number of Monarchs, likely a result of good weather during the breeding season, according to Sarina Jepsen of Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation. “But it's a very hopeful sign and it to me, it says we have a little bit more time to work on recovering the monarch population.
