Motorcycle Rider Injured In 2-Vehicle Collision
The motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A 62-year-old man who was riding a black 2007 Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle suffered six fractured ribs and a punctured lung Thursday in a collision with a Ford Focus in Sorrento Valley.
San Diego Police Department officers were called to the 4900 block of Caroll Canyon Road at 4:13 p.m. Thursday where they learned the 27-year-old driver of the Ford Focus drove out of a driveway, turned right and headed west in the westbound number two lane on Carroll Canyon Road.
According to police, the motorcycle rider approached the Focus from behind at what police said was an unsafe speed and struck the Focus, resulting in a rear-end collision, said San Diego Police Department Officer Jose Perales.

The motorcycle rider was taken to a hospital. Police said alcohol was not a factor in the collision.
