SAN DIEGO, CA — A 36-year-old motorist was seriously injured in a crash in Rancho Penasquitos, the San Diego Police Department said Friday.

At 11:26 p.m. Thursday, a man was driving a 2024 Audi A4 luxury compact executive car southbound on 14000 Black Mountain Road when he failed to maintain the curve in the road, SDPD Officer David O'Brien said.

The vehicle collided with the guardrail along the west curb, the officer said. The driver over-corrected to the left, the Audi jumped the raised center median, and collided with a large tree.
