New Goodwill Retail Store Coming To San Diego

The grand opening event will offer discounts, giveaways, and a chance to win gift cards.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A new Goodwill retail store is coming soon to La Jolla, expanding the nonprofit's presence in San Diego County.

The store is opening its doors Jan. 21 at 7849 Herschel Ave. The space is near Prospect Street, which Goodwill San Diego describes as a "gateway to La Jolla Cove and other popular tourist destinations."

"We are excited to expand our presence in La Jolla and provide an enhanced shopping experience for our customers," said Toni Giffin, president and CEO of Goodwill San Diego and Imperial Counties.

Goodwill retail stores offer various secondhand merchandise, including clothing, shoes, accessories, home decor, housewares, furniture and more.

"Every purchase helps fund employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities and other barriers," Giffin said. "By strengthening our workforce, we strengthen our community."

The store will open at 9 a.m. Jan. 21, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8:30 a.m. The event will offer discounts, giveaways, and a chance to win gift cards.
