- Under the "Bridge to Home" program, seven affordable housing projects have been slated for funding. On Monday, Mayor Todd Gloria stated: "This is another effort to ensure the city is doing all it can to foster the creation of housing that is affordable to low-income San Diegans. 'The Bridge to Home' program will help provide the gap financing needed to make these housing projects a reality and create hundreds of homes for families and individuals who can't afford market-rate housing — including many who are currently experiencing homelessness." The seven housing projects are located in various areas of San Diego. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (Patch)
- A San Diego judge ruled that Ashford University must pay more than $22 million in penalties for making misleading statements to prospective students about career outcomes, cost, and financial aid. - Downtown San Diego Partnership: "Last month, our team took to the streets with the Regional Task Force on Homelessness for 'WeAllCount' — the annual census and survey of people experiencing homelessness throughout the region used to identify need and apply for critical federal funding. More than 100 volunteers traveled in small groups guided by an outreach lead to assist with the count in one Downtown census track to spotlight the tremendous need in San Diego’s urban center. Results gathered during the annual census are critical to understanding the region’s needs, helping improve policies, directing funding, and informing conversations around San Diego’s homelessness crisis."
