Northern Baja California Quake Felt In San Diego County

The quake was reported late Monday night. Did you feel it?

SAN DIEGO, CA — An earthquake centered in Northern Baja California was felt in San Diego County.

The magnitude 4.2 quake struck at 11:41 p.m. Monday roughly 42 miles east-northeast of San Vicente, Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The temblor's epicenter was about 6 miles deep and approximately 68 miles southeast of Ensenada and 90 miles south of El Centro.

San Diego area residents reported feeling the quake in communities across the county, including in Bonita, El Cajon, Jacumba, Julian, La Mesa, Lemon Grove, San Diego and Spring Valley, according to the USGS's "Did You Feel It?" map.

The Baja California Civil Protection said there were no reports of damage.
