Pedestrian Fatally Struck On Highway In San Diego

SAN DIEGO, CA — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a SUV while attempting to cross a highway in San Diego Thursday.
The accident occurred around 5:20 a.m. Thursday when the female pedestrian attempted to cross traffic lanes on northbound Interstate 805 to 43rd Street, and was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe, according to the California Highway Patrol.
She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name and age were not immediately available.

The driver remained on the scene and cooperated with the investigation, CHP officials said. Alcohol or drugs did not appear to be a factor in the crash.
The circumstances surrounding the crash were unclear, but the CHP was investigating.
