  1. Have you been wondering why our San Diego's gas prices are so high? GasBuddy refers to us as 'Petro Island,' because our location is cut off by the Rocky Mountains. This makes transportation of fuel more difficult and more costly. California has a Cap-and-Trade Program which raises the cost of fuel to the consumer. The cost of gas blended to minimize pollution is also more expensive to produce, adding a further cost passed down to the consumer. Additional fees at the pump, like the carbon offset fee, as well as the taxes we must pay, all contribute to our pricey gas cocktail. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. 2. He created a stunning portrait of Black lives here in San Diego from the 1930s until 1986. He was known as Norman Baynard (later known as Mansour Abdullah). During his lifetime Baynard took nearly 30,000 photographs which are now archived at the San Diego History Center. He photographed newlyweds, family celebrations, birthday parties, baptisms, and more. His powerful photos tell a story of everyday people and their lives. Of the thousands of photographs at the center, 500 are now available to view online. To learn more: Click into parenthesis, then click the link. (KPBS)
  3. Enjoy the all-day event of three concert sessions at San Diego Sings! The concert features performances by 15 different choral groups and choirs, who will perform along with the audience. The festival includes such well-known groups as the Children’s Choir, San Diego Women’s Chorus, San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus, and the San Diego Chorus of Sweet Adelines.
