'Pride Fence' Vandalized In Scripps Ranch By 'Teens On E-Bikes' Again

'I felt like someone sucker punched me,' owner Brittany Fuller said when her pride fence was vandalized yet again.

SCRIPPS RANCH, CA — The Scripps Ranch Pride fence has become a familiar sight for residents, as familiar as seeing it vandalized. Now, homeowner Brittany Fuller feels they may have some answers.

After over 20 incidents of vandalism targeting the rainbow-bright mural fence, Fuller had video cameras mounted to try and catch people in the act. On Saturday, she did just that. She said "teens on e-bikes" paused at her property to hurl apples at the wood fencing, causing damage. The homeowner chased down the kids, but only to ask them: "Why?" according to a recent ABC10 News report.

She was told that within the middle school, there are groups of kids that actively hate LGBT kids. "They go as far as to pay people to deface the Pride fence," she told reporters, saying the teens were paid $20 to damage the fence.

"These kids told me that there, within the middle school, there are active groups of kids who hate LGBTQ people," she said.

A police report was filed on the vandalism, and officers are investigating. Though charges were not filed in this case, police have previously logged incidents against the Pride Fence.
