SAN DIEGO, CA — The rumors are true: Rumorosa is a bright spot on San Diego's culinary scene with beautiful views and bold flavors from both sides of the border.

Located in the heart of the harbor, Rumorosa is Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina's signature Cali-Baja restaurant.

Designed to captivate the essence of both sides of the border, Rumorosa features authentic Cali-Baja dishes, from fresh, local seafood to street tacos served on heirloom corn tortillas. The menu also showcases regional wines and cocktails featuring curated agave spirits.

Earlier this summer, we got a small taste of Rumorosa's dinner menu during a hosted stay at the recently renovated waterfront resort overlooking the beautiful San Diego Bay.

My family of five decided on the warm tortilla chips with queso and Mexican street corn for appetizers. We also tried the spiced tortilla soup and Cali chicken and hominy pozole as entrées.

I had one of the restaurant's signature cocktails called El Ponche, which included Hacienda de Chihuahua Sotol Blanco, a traditional Mexican spirit, as well as rum, pressed lime, smashed pineapple and passion fruit, and cinnamon infusion.

The family-friendly restaurant offered a variety of options for our three young kids. They ordered a cheeseburger, chicken fingers and fries, and pasta with salad.

We all enjoyed our food and the kids were happy, which made this mom of three boys even more happy.

We tried just a sampling of what Rumorosa has to offer. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner daily, as well as brunch on the weekends. Rumorosa also offers a variety of events, including happy hour, wine dinners, live music Thursday through Saturday evenings, and salsa nights on select summer evenings.

Drawing inspiration from a lively Spanish saying, the name Rumorosa, which actually means something akin to "boisterous" in Spanish, reflects the winding mountainous route that connects the inland desert to the Baja coast.

Rumorosa opened in February 2024 as part of a landmark $100 million property renovation. Since then, the restaurant has invited guests to explore, connect and embrace the bold flavors of Baja and the essence of San Diego.

"We're proud to offer a place where guests and locals can connect over great food, marina views, and the spirit of San Diego," said Sean Clancy, vice president and general manager of Sheraton San Diego Resort. "From casual breakfasts to sunset dinners with live music, Rumorosa is a versatile destination for any time of day."

Sheraton San Diego Resort offers five dining concepts.

In addition to Rumorosa, seasonal poolside dining can be enjoyed at Sunglow Cabana Bar, which offers frozen drinks for all ages, SoCal-inspired shareables, and a family-friendly cabana bar experience.

Resort guests and locals alike can also visit Brewery X, a brew pub serving local craft brews, chef-driven bar bites, and laidback vibes. Strada Italian Market offers Italian bites, gelato, specialty coffees, cold brew on tap, pastries, and grab-and-go options.

The resort's Bay Tower has a bar and lounge that feature familiar favorites alongside harbor views.

Of course, resort guests can also use mobile dining for room service.

But Rumorosa is Sheraton San Diego Resort's standout dining spot.

The restaurant offers fresh coastal ingredients and creative culinary storytelling, but also unmatched marina views. Rumorosa has floor to ceiling waterfront views, so guests can savor every bite as they soak in the beauty of San Diego.

Whether you're gathering for brunch with friends, planning a special family outing, or sharing cocktails on date night, Rumorosa offers both a flavorful dining experience and a waterfront setting that's ideal for any occasion.
