San Diego County Reports 1,399 New COVID Cases, 3 More Deaths

According to the county Health and Human Services Agency, another 542 infections were recorded Saturday, 486 on Sunday and 371 on Monday.

San Diego County reported another 1,399 new COVID-19 infections from the three-day period ending Monday, while also confirming three more virus-related deaths.

According to the county Health and Human Services Agency, another 542 infections were recorded Saturday, 486 on Sunday and 371 on Monday.

The new cases gave the county a cumulative total of 910,723 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. The three deaths from the three-day period increased the county’s overall virus-related death toll to 5,459.

The number of people hospitalized with a coronavirus infection in San Diego County, meanwhile, decreased by nine to 247, according to the latest state data.

More than 3 million or 90% of San Diegans age 6 months and older are at least partially vaccinated, while 2.66 million or 79.7% are fully vaccinated. A total of 1,442,309 or 58.9% of 2,425,587 eligible San Diegans have received a booster.
