San Diego Woman Found Safe In Shasta County

Penelope Bax was reported missing after family members didn't hear from her for days.

SAN DIEGO, CA -- A San Diego woman was found safe in Shasta County after family members said they didn't hear from her for days. Toni Burrows Monaco reported her sister, Penelope Bax, missing after she failed to arrive to Washington for an Easter visit with family.

Bax's last known location was in the Shasta County area on the evening of March 29. Authorities on Monday said they found Bax.

Monaco wrote on Facebook that Bax was in San Jose visiting friends two days before that.

"She is traveling in her Mercedes RV with her golden retriever Walter," Monaco wrote. "She was on her way to Washington to visit our nephew and his family."

NBC 7 reported Bax is the owner of Rancho Santa Fe Flowers and Gifts.
