San Diego Ranks High On 'Best Brunch Cities In America' Report

SAN DIEGO, CA — Bottomless mimosas, the aroma of bacon, platters of pastries, omelettes of every variety — and all to be enjoyed from early morning to late afternoon — brunch is a delicacy celebrated all over the U.S.

San Diego was ranked as one of the best cities to enjoy the luxurious marriage between breakfast and lunch, according to a report from Clever, a real estate data company.

The city was ranked at no. 3 for having plenty of restaurants with moderately affordable prices compared to the rest of the nation.

According to the report, the average cost of brunch was $15.22, compared with a national average of $14.71.

The coastal city ranked no. 1 on Clever's search for avocado toast. San Diego also ranked in the top five on Clever's list for brunch restaurants per capita — 12 spots per 100,000 people.

Also, residents spent a lot of time daydreaming about brunch, as evidenced by the volume of brunch-related web services in the area, Clever reported.

Clever compared the 50 most populous U.S. metro areas across 36 metrics to create the report.
