San Diego Zoo Safari Park Shines Bright During 'Wild Holidays'

Wild Holidays at San Diego Zoo Safari Park features festive food, lights, live entertainment and more.

ESCONDIDO, CA — San Diego Zoo Safari Park is shining bright during Wild Holidays.

The seasonal event features festive food, lights, live entertainment and more at the Escondido-based park. Highlights include:

  • Merry Music: The sounds of the season fill the air with music from Safari Park Radio 197.2 and live performances from the Holiday Troubadour, the Turtle Doves and Sweater Weather.
  • Wild Holidays Celebration Tree: The Safari Park-themed tree features wildlife decorations and holiday lighting at Safari Base Camp.
  • Light Up the Holidays: Safari Base Camp comes to life as the village lights up in a choreographed display to a holiday soundtrack.
  • Photos with Santa: On select Wild Holidays dates, visitors can have their photos taken with Santa at Safari Base Camp.
  • Bridge of Lights: Walk across Safari Walk Bridge, which has been transformed into a musical and magical tunnel of light.
  • "'Twas the Night Before Wild Holidays": Join Safari Parker for interactive fun and surprises as he reads the original holiday story, "'Twas the Night Before Wild Holidays," which ends in a wintery finale.
  • Nairobi Lantern Walk: Journey down Nairobi Walk and experience the lanterns as they light and change to a musical soundtrack.
  • Enchanted Lagoon: Mombasa Lagoon features floating holiday lights that add a seasonal ambience to the beauty of the lighted waterfall.
  • The Spirit of the Season: Locations around Tiger Trail are dusted with magical touches, including holiday décor and lighted trees.
  • Forest of Color: The Arbor Walk and Baja Garden are illuminated in holiday light as Condor Valley glistens with seasonal magic.
  • Festive Food and Drinks: Holiday specialty items are available, including festive fresh fudge, cinnamon apple mules, Irish cream nitro brew, peppermint bark and more.

Wild Holidays runs from 4-8 p.m. on select dates through Jan. 5 at San Diego Zoo Safari Park, located at 15500 San Pasqual Valley Road in Escondido. Remaining dates include Dec. 21-23 and Dec. 26 through Jan. 5.
