SD Semi-Pro Football Team Devastated After Player Killed Changing Tire
The San Diego Silverbacks says it is devastated by the death of Dave Post II, who was killed when he was hit by a car while changing a tire.
SAN DIEGO — A semi-professional football player in San Diego was hit by a car and killed as he changed a tire along the side of a road in Chula Vista.
The driver of a Toyota Scion parked along State Route 54 near Highland Avenue around 6 p.m. Thursday, media outlets reported. The California Highway Patrol said the man was changing a tire when he was hit by a Mazda sedan. The man died at a hospital.
Multiple media outlets identified the victim as 22-year-old Dave Post II.

The San Diego Silverbacks, who play at Clairemont High School in the Gridiron Developmental Football League, said in an Instagram post it was "devastated to hear the news."
"Prayers go out to his family and his Silverbacks' brothers," the team said. "Rest In Peace nephew. We love you."
