SeaWorld San Diego To Honor Veterans With Free Admission, Fireworks And More

SeaWorld is honoring active-duty military, veterans and their families with free admission and special events during Veterans Day weekend.

SAN DIEGO, CA — SeaWorld San Diego is honoring military members and their families with free admission and special events this Veterans Day, the theme park announced.

Military members and up to three family members can receive complimentary one-day admission through the company's Waves of Honor program, which salutes active-duty military members, veterans and their families with special pricing and promotions. From Nov. 9-11, the park will also hold a daily flag ceremony, fireworks show and more.

Thanks to Navy Federal Credit Union, active-duty military members and veterans visiting the park Veterans Day weekend will also receive special benefits, including a priority entrance.

"SeaWorld has welcomed thousands of veterans and military members throughout our 60 years and we are incredibly proud to partner with Navy Federal Credit Union this year and extend this offer to veterans, recognizing their unwavering dedication and sacrifices," said Tyler Carter, park president of SeaWorld San Diego. "We invite both veterans and active duty service members to create unforgettable experiences with their families here at SeaWorld."

Throughout the weekend, SeaWorld will open each day with a flag ceremony and the national anthem. On Veterans Day, SeaWorld will welcome the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing Band to perform the flag raising ceremony.

A "Field of Honor" with 1,000 American flags will be on display to represent local veterans and their families. Guests will also be able to dedicate a flag with a personal note to their hero. In addition, the park will recognize veterans and their service at Orca Encounter and Dolphin Adventures presentations.

The weekend will also include a nightly Veterans Day fireworks show presented by Navy Federal Credit Union. The show will take place 10 minutes prior to the park closing Nov. 9-11.

Active-duty military members and veterans can register for free single-day tickets for themselves and up to three dependents.

This year, SeaWorld is also extending its military annual pass to include veterans as well as active-duty military members. Previously, the pass offer was only available to active-duty military. Passholders receive unlimited admission with no blockout dates and free parking through the end of 2025.
