SeaWorld San Diego To Host Inaugural Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run/Walk

SAN DIEGO, CA — SeaWorld San Diego is debuting a new addition to Howl-O-Scream, the theme park's annual nighttime Halloween event.

The seasonal event will introduce the Howl-O-Sprint 5K Run/Walk and Kids Fun Run. Participants will adventure along a 3.1-mile course through the grounds of the park, which will be decorated for SeaWorld's Howl-O-Scream and Spooktacular events.

Organizers are planning Halloween surprises, themed photo moments and spooky characters that will pop up along the route, according to the park. The event is for all ages and fitness levels, because it will also include a one-mile Kids Fun Run.

The event will kick off at 7 a.m. Oct. 20. Registration is open. Costumes and themed attire are encouraged, but masks will not be permitted.

All participants will receive an official race shirt, race bib with a timing chip, a finisher medal and eligibility for awards for top finishes.

Howl-O-Scream returns Sept. 27 and runs on select nights through Nov. 2. The separately ticketedevent will feature haunted houses, scare zones, a new theatrical show, live entertainment, roller coasters after dark and more.
