Serial Flasher Accused Of Exposing Himself To Schoolgirls In San Diego: Police

A man is accused of exposing himself to girls walking home from school over the past decade in the Carmel Valley area, authorities said.

SAN DIEGO, CA — A man was arrested this week on suspicion of exposing himself to girls walking home from school over the past decade in the Carmel Valley area of San Diego, authorities said.

Rene Cruz, 27, of Carmel Valley was accused of flashing at least 17 students during the last 10 years, according to the San Diego Police Department. The students were from Solana Pacific Elementary School, Carmel Valley Middle School and Torrey Pines High School.

Cruz targeted the victims by pulling up alongside them in a white Toyota sedan or a silver Buick SUV and exposing himself through an open passenger-side door, SDPD Detective Michael Weaver said.

Cruz was arrested Monday and booked into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of multiple indecent exposure incidents, Weaver said.

Police believe there may be additional victims. Anyone with information about the case was asked to call the department or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
