Slightly Warmer Weather Expected Mid-Week For San Diego County
Forecasters said Tuesday will be the coolest day of the week.
SAN DIEGO, CA — Cooler weather was expected to continue Tuesday in San Diego County, with stronger winds through the mountains and deserts and a slight warming trend to pick up within the next couple of days, forecasters said.
A wind advisory will be in effect until at least 5 a.m. Wednesday for county deserts and mountains. Winds will be strongest on the desert-mountain slopes, through passes and into the deserts, with peak gusts expected from 40 to 55 mph, according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters said Tuesday will be the coolest day of the week, with highs 10 to 15 degrees below average for inland areas. Dry conditions were expected to return by Wednesday, with high temperatures to warm up by 5 to 10 degrees and locally up to 15 degrees warmer in the mountains.

Coastal San Diego can expect mostly sunny condition through Thursday, then partly cloudy on Friday, with more cloudy weather expected over the weekend and highs in the mid-60s.
Mountain areas will see some sun through Friday, with highs ranging in the mid-60s to mid-70s and cloudy weather also expected to move in over the weekend, the NWS said.

On Tuesday, downtown San Diego was expected to have patchy drizzle before 11 a.m., with mostly cloudy conditions and a high near 63. The overnight low was expected to be around 56.
Wednesday's San Diego surf forecast includes a moderate-risk rip current, with surf from 2 to 4 feet and swell from 280 degrees.
Additionally, a small craft advisory will be in effect until at least 11 p.m. Tuesday for waters from San Mateo Point to the Mexican Border extending 10 to 60 nautical miles out, including San Clemente Island.
Marine forecasters said strong west-northwest winds will continue through Tuesday, with sustained winds of 15 to 20 knots and gusts to 25 knot across the outer coastal waters. Winds should briefly diminish Tuesday morning, but may strengthen again Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Sea winds were expected to taper off by Wednesday morning.
