Stabbing Leads To Paradise Hills SWAT Standoff
At least one person was sent to a hospital Sunday night, authorities said.
SAN DIEGO, CA — A SWAT team took up positions around a Paradise Hills-area home where an assault suspect was believed to be holed up early Monday, leading to a roughly four-hour standoff that ended when police entered the residence and discovered the man was not there.
Officers investigating a stabbing that took place late Sunday evening in National City went to the house near the intersection of Rachael Avenue and Winchester Street early Monday morning in search of the suspected assailant, according to the San Diego Police Department.
At about 2 a.m., after attempts to call the man out of the home proved futile, special weapons and tactics personnel were called in, SDPD Officer Colin Steinbroner said.
