Vehicle Crash In La Mesa Prompts Hotel Evacuation, Power Outage

LA MESA, CA — A hotel was evacuated Tuesday after a vehicle crash prompted a temporary power outage and gas leak in La Mesa that affected hundreds of customers in the area, authorities said.
The crash occurred at around 6:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 9500 block of Murray Drive when the vehicle crashed into a power pole, fire hydrant and gas line, according to the Heartland Fire Department.
No injuries were reported, but a road closure was set up as crews worked to fix the gas leak.
